ohloh have just introduced a new concept of open source software "stacks" which are collections of your favorite free libre open software grouped into functional collections for example for "desktop", "server", "PBX" etc.
You should be able to see the stacks I've created FSSE (server), OSDE (desktop) , VOIP & VIZZ (virtualisation)
@ http://www.ohloh.net/accounts/3283/stacks ! or read more @ http://www.ohloh.net/wiki/stack_faq
What's in your favorite ohloh "stack" ?

The latest GoogleMail feature is :
Embarrassment reducing new message notifications "Ever replied to a message only to find out that someone sent a better, smarter reply right before you? Now, if someone sends a reply while you're in the middle of reading a conversation (or replying to it), you'll get a notification that a new message has arrived. Click "update conversation" to see what you’ve missed."
You see there are benefits in letting a third party such as Google have access to all your emails !
Technology can be scary - even if it's a bargain !
TESCO have been selling off Canon IXUS 70's (with free Canon Selphy printer) for £99 but now I know why ! It must be to make shelf space for the IXUS 80 @ £199 ! However I find the IXUS face detection focus square that hovers over your subjects face while you move the camera fairly scary although its probably just the same technology used 100,000's of times everyday on the CCTV cameras around LGW & LHR for vehicle number plate detection. Old hat maybe or maybe it's just been a long time since I last bought a digital camera !
In Argos the Panasonic SDR-S7EB-K @ £220 features "3 second pre-record" that starts recording 3 seconds "before you press record" surely this has to be the worlds cheapest time machine ! And the Panasonic SDR-SW20EB-R UNDERWATER camcorder for £280 ! Isn't that how much they use to sell the waterproof cases for !
Finally TkMax are selling £100 PHILIPS Baby Alarms for £40 that phone your mobile when your baby crys ! I can see two flaws in that 1) what are you going to do when you are 50/500/5000 miles away ? 2) you have to install a phone line in every room your baby might be in ! Maybe TkMax are clearing their shelfs for a Wi-Fi enabled, multi-sensor version with dial IN as well as dial OUT capabilities !
Now that I would buy for £40 !
http://www.virtualmin.com/ Virtualmin Front Page, originally uploaded by osde8info.
You can easily switch between VirtualMin and WebMin modes by clicking the buttons in the top left hand corner of the screen !
this shows both side bar menu (frame) and details (frame).
Here's the cut-down / limited / secured Virtualmin Virtual / User / Server control panel that your "customers" see ! Note that they can also switch between VirtualMin and WebMin modes !
What you need :
- A Photo
- A image manipulation Program like IrfanView that lets you control size, position and margins of printouts
- A Printer
- A sheet of A4 paper
Steps :
- Open photo with your chosen program
- Change print size to 10cm (keep ratio)
- Chose Landscape Paper
- Add a horizontal margin / offset of 17cm
- Add a Vertical margin / offset of 12 cm
- Fold lengthwise
- Fold widthwise
Result :
