VIRB is a place that lets you put all of the things that make you you – photos, videos, blogs – in one place. More specifically, VIRB is a vision of a social community - done right. A website that combines you, your interests, your friends and the things you like with music, art, fashion, film and more. Stay connected with your friends. Find new music. View and upload good videos, photos and more.
Isn't this the almost same as VOX ? If not maybe I need to sign up to VIRB as well ? Can you tell the difference ?
Here's a good example why I don't blog on NING (apart from their comment wall spaming system). To blog a single story about about Ed/X/Ubuntu I'd have to login / logout to / from each and every one of these NING networks/groups separately then cut & paste the same story nine times to each of these NING networks/groups !

Sorry NING but I would like some spare time to a have a first life !
Whoever created VOX single/two click cross network/group posting is a genius ! It's only taken me twelve clicks to cross post this to six VOX networks/groups !
Do you have a (VOX) blog?
If you do, you can connect to it via Flickr. Why? So you can post photos or video you see around here straight to your blog. When you go through the process, you have to connect to your blogging service first (by telling us the URL and your username & password), then you can choose a layout for each post (or create your own if you know a bit of HTML).

Six Apart on PodTech
To quote other blogs you could start by just using italics or follow some or all of these official instructions:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/bv.fcgi?rid=citmed.section.61024
In citing a blog, note that:
- The word blog may or may not be a part of the title. If it is not, using the content type "blog" is strongly recommended.
- Many blogs are self-published, with the author and the publisher the same individual.
- Place of publication may be absent. Use the author's city as the place if one is not provided.
- Blogs often omit giving the date the blog began. If no beginning date is found, use the date of the earliest message posted (usually found under Archive) and place it in square brackets.
- Many blogs have new content added daily or very frequently. A date of update/revision is therefore not useful and is omitted from a citation.
According this evenings TheLondonPaper Wikipedia Germany has banned "instant edits" and is only allowing "trusted editors" to make changes !
Unfortunately spammers seem to have won as I have also had to lock down both my wikis (www.fsse.info & www.osde.infoo) because of inappropropriate edits !
Google Analytics v StatCounter on VOX
Its a simple choice Google Analytics uses JavaScript and doesn't work in your VOX homepage embed while StatCounter can just use HTML and does work in your VOX homepage embed !
So now you can have webstats on your VOX page if you use StatCounter !
To add GoStats or StatCounter to your VOX just click My VOX, Design, Customise My Sidebar, Embed, Customise then paste the counter HTML into embed section !
Easy ?
The Independent today gave away a blogging for beginners guide to its 1/4 million readers that featured VOX as "one of the easiest services to use" - and I absolutely agree !
I hope we can expect to see a massive influx of UK bloggers on VOX !
The Independent has produced a seven-part series, sponsored by Tesco Internet Phone www.tesco.com/internetphone, which looks at the basics of using a PC !
See http://news.independent.co.uk/sci_tech/article2915424.ece
This series will take you right from the initial decisions - choosing a system, setting it up and getting connected to the internet - right through to such seemingly difficult applications as creating your own online photo album, finding new music or even making a video call to the other side of the world.
The first 36-page magazine focuses on Your Computer. The second magazine focuses on The Internet.
The other five booklets are: Music, Video, Social Networking, Blogging [on Blogger and VOX] and Communication.
You can buy back copies at http://www.read4charity.co.uk/masterpc/
This group has 138,748 members !!!
BUT PLEASE don't create a sister one on VOX since I might feel compelled to leave for NING !When adding a post I oftern want to add it to more than one group ! So could we have a multi-select list and Groups Of Groups grouping (via tags) !
For example I'm likely to want to post an article about photography to Amateur Photographers, Photographers, Photo Editing and unlikely to post it to Ambient, Ecology etc etc
Just have a look at ohloh which uses artifical intelligence to think of appropriate tags for a post maybe VOX could do the same to auto suggest VOX tags & groups
